Mother hands over shotgun allegedly fired by her son
Police arrested a 22-year-old Kalihi man for investigation of firearms violations after his mother turned a shotgun over to police.
Early Tuesday morning, officers in Kalihi responded to a call that shots had been fired.
They found nothing when they arrived at the scene. But a short time later, a woman turned a shotgun over to police and said her son had threatened to damage her home when she would not return the shotgun to her.
Officers determined the son had possession of the shotgun at the time the shots-fired call came in, and arrested him about 3 a.m. Tuesday. He was booked on suspicion of possession of a prohibited firearm and failure to properly store a firearm.
