The No. 25 Hawai'i softball team launched 12 homers in a sweep of Boise State in a Western Athletic Conference doubleheader this afternoon in Boise, Idaho.

Hawai'i (33-11, 11-0 WAC) won the first game 9-5 and the second game 12-1 in five innings, giving coach Bob Coolen his 700th win. The Rainbow Wahine push their school record for homers in a single season to 106.

The Rainbow Wahine scored all of their runs off six homers in the first game. Kelly Majam, who broke the school's single-season home-run record in yesterday's 15-1 win over Boise State, led off the top of the first with a solo homer. After Jessica Iwata grounded out, Melissa Gonzalez homered to make it 2-0.

Amanda Tauali'i hit a three-run homer in the second to make it 5-0 and hit a two-run blast to make it 7-0 in the fourth. Three batters later, Iwata hit a solo homer for an 8-0 lead. Gonzalez hit a solo homer in the seventh.

In the second game, 11 Hawai'i runs came off six homers, highlighted by Iwata's grand slam in the top of the fifth. Iwata hit three homers in the second game.

Coolen's record is 700-423-1 in 19 seasons at Hawai'i and 772-516-1 overall.

Hawai'i hosts Louisiana Tech on Friday and Saturday at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
