After putting up monster numbers all season, Roosevelt junior Kaipo Pale pulled down top individual honors after a vote by O'ahu Interscholastic Association White Conference coaches.

Pale, a 6-foot-3 post, had seven "double-doubles" in the regular season en route to averaging 14.3 points and 13.3 rebounds per game (according to maxpreps.com).

That included a stunning 19-point, 26-rebound effort in a 53-43 victory over Kalani. He also had 15 points and 16 rebounds in a 51-48 win over Pearl City, 19 points and 15 rebounds in a 51-47 victory over Kailua, and 12 points and 14 rebounds in a 62-49 loss to Kalani.

The Rough Riders came back to finish 13-2 in league play and won the White Conference championship, with Pale scoring 10 of his 17 points in the fourth period to help Roosevelt rally past Kailua, 46-36, in the title game.

Pale is joined on the OIA White all-star first team by Kailua seniors Jordon DeCorte and Corey Lau, Kalani senior Ryoji Iguchi and Wai'anae senior Christian Mendonza.

Mendonza — a 6-foot guard who was the 2009 OIA White Player of the Year — averaged 15.8 points per game this past season.

Kailua's Tim Harrison and Wai'anae's John Simbahon were named Co-Coaches of the Year.

Kailua finished 13-4 in league play and qualified for its second straight Division II state tournament.

Wai'anae finished 11-2.
