A high-surf advisory is in effect for north- and west-facing shores of Niihau and Kauai, and north-facing shores of Oahu, Molokai and Maui until 6 p.m. tomorrow.

The National Weather Service this afternoon issued a new high-surf advisory for east-facing shores of Oahu and the Big Island. A short-period swell has produced rough surf of 5 feet to 8 feet and will continue through Wednesday.

Surf along the north-facing shores of Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai and Maui will continue at 10 feet to 15 feet tonight before dropping below advisory levels Wednesday morning.

The weather service says it will be a mostly cloudy day, with numerous windward showers on Oahu, Molokai and Maui and scattered showers on Kauai.

Highs will be 75 to 80 degrees with northeast winds at about 15 mph.
