How will you celebrate Earth Day? You could: stay at the Aqua Bamboo & Spa in Waikīkī, which just received a Hawaii Green Business award, for $89/night (plus half off the daily parking fee); discount applies throughout April. On the Big Island, enjoy nature on Earth Day, April 22, while helping replant native forests at the Kohala Watershed Project. There's also the "Grow Hawaiian" festival at Bishop Museum on April 24 (it's free to kama'āina and military). Get more details at our blog!

MOM KNOWS BEST: SHARE HER WORDS OF WISDOM
What words of wisdom did your mom share with you that you cherish to this day? Were they profound? Simple? Funny?
Fill in the blank, in 50 words or less: "Mom was right when she said ... "
We'll publish our favorite responses in the paper in honor of Mother's Day.
Send your answer along with your name, age, daytime phone number and address to: Mother's Day, Island Life, The Honolulu Advertiser, 605 Kapi'olani Blvd., Honolulu, HI 96813; or e-mail it to zserrano@honoluluadvertiser.com with "Mother's Day" in the subject line. Submissions may be edited.
We also welcome photos of you with your mom — original prints or high-resolution images — which may appear in print or online. Original prints will not be returned. Deadline is April 26.
