'Descendants' author Hemmings to read from works

Hawaii writer Kaui Hart Hemmings, author of "The Descendants," will read from her works and answer questions from 2 to 3 p.m. April 30 at Hawaii Pacific University's Warmer Auditorium, 1060 Bishop St.
The event is being sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, the university's English honor society.
"The Descendants" is currently being filmed in Hawaii and stars George Clooney.
