LOS ANGELES — Southern California has signed 7-foot DeWayne Dedmon as a transfer and he will redshirt during the 2010-11 season.

Coach Kevin O'Neill said Wednesday that Dedmon will enroll in USC in January after completing one more semester at Antelope Valley College in Palmdale, Calif.

Dedmon won't play basketball at Antelope Valley, so he'll have three full seasons of eligibility remaining beginning with the 2011-12 season.

The center averaged 6.6 points and 7.8 rebounds last season while helping the school to a 17-14 record. Dedmon didn't begin playing basketball until his senior year at Lancaster (Calif.) High.
