Cool, dry breezes also contributing to leeward wildfire potential in Islands

Cool, dry north winds will make for another breezy day in Hawaii.
The National Weather Service says today will be partly sunny, with highs of 75 to 80 degrees and winds at 15 to 25 mph.
Unfortunately, the sustained winds and relative low humidity will also create conditions favorable for rapid wildfire growth and the weather service has upgraded an earlier fire watch to a red-flag warning for leeward areas of all islands. Residents are urged to be especially vigilant.
The warning will be in effect from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A high-surf advisory also has been posted for east-facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai and the Big Island.
Surf along those shores will be in the 5- to 8-foot range.
