TRAVEL RESOURCES

GO ONLINE FOR ADVICE ON AIRPLANE SEATS, FOOD AND LOST-LUGGAGE WOES

• Airplane economy seats are comfortable if you're shorter than 5 feet 5 and rail-thin. Seats with extra leg room, such as those in the emergency row, cost extra. Seat-size problems are so prevalent that SeatGuru has an extensive database on the best seats for all airlines, and reviews and seat maps for each carrier. www.seatguru.com.

• Airlines charge for everything that constitutes in-flight food. See photos of meals by carrier, reviews and prices at www.airlinemeals.net.

• Airlines worldwide lose about 3,000 pieces of luggage per hour — for which passengers paid a nonrefundable fee. In the U.S. that translates to about one out of 150 people who have their checked bag misdirected or left behind each year. The Independent Traveler offers advice on resources when your bag takes a side trip. www.independenttraveler.com.

SEA LIFE PARK
