Carrie Underwood made history last night at the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, becoming the first woman to ever win the top prize — Entertainer of the Year — twice.
"I think I just got makeup all over Brad Paisley," gushed Underwood after hugging the male vocalist of the year on her way up to the stage.
But the night belonged to Lady Antebellum.
The trio went into the ACM Awards with seven nominations, the most this year, and walked away with five wins: group of the year, single record of the year (as artists and producer) and song of the year (as artists and writers). The trio shared the song of the year win for "Need You Now" with co-writer Josh Kear and the single record of the year win for "Need You Now" with producer Paul Worley.
Other big winners included Paisley, who picked up his fourth male vocalist of the year trophy; Brooks & Dunn, with their 16th top vocal duo win; and Luke Bryan, who won the top new artist award. Underwood also received the Triple Crown Award, thanks to her past wins for the categories of Entertainer of the Year, Top Female Vocalist and Top New Female Vocalist.

GLAAD MEDIA AWARDS SALUTE 'GLEE'
"Glee" has another reason to be happy.
The Fox musical comedy was among the winners at the 21st annual GLAAD Media Awards, given out by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. The show's cast and creator Ryan Murphy received the trophy for outstanding comedy series at Saturday's glitzy ceremony at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles. Murphy particularly praised lesbian actress Jane Lynch and gay actor Chris Colfer for their contributions as cast members. "We have a great responsibility with the show," Murphy beamed.
Constance McMillen, the lesbian Mississippi teen who challenged her school district's ban on same-sex prom dates, presented comedian-actress Wanda Sykes with the Stephen F. Kolzak Award, given by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation to an openly gay member of the entertainment community for their work toward eliminating homophobia.
'DRAGON,' 'KICK-ASS' AT TOP OF BOX OFFICE
It's another photo finish at the weekend box office, with the No. 1 spot too close to call between the animated adventure "How to Train Your Dragon" and the superhero comedy "Kick-Ass."
Distributor Paramount reported yesterday that DreamWorks Animation's "How to Train Your Dragon" took in $20 million. "Kick-Ass" distributor Lionsgate reported its movie debuting at $19.75 million.
With just $250,000 separating them, either movie could end up at No. 1 when the studios release final weekend numbers today.
