You can call it "ping pong" or you can call it "table tennis" and it's fun at Waikiki Community Center every Tuesday at 3:00 5:00 p.m., and Friday at 1:00 2:30 p.m. "Ping Pong aka Table Tennis is one of few activities you can play at any age and one of few sports where children can compete against adults," according to James Peralta coordinator. "So many old players are in tremendous shape and none look their age." Come to Waikiki Community Center and enjoy a match with new friends.

There are single and double play-offs, depending on the player's desires. Some of the tables are used for practice volleying; others are used for social competition. Most players play the "old fashioned" way: games are played to 21 points and serves alternate every 5 points. Last February was the first Waikiki Community Center Ping Pong Tournament with loads of prizes and great attendance that we want you to come and build your table tennis skills so you'll be ready for the next tournament. With 5 tables there is plenty of opportunity to learn how to slice, slam and finesse the ball over the net. Cost $1members, $3 non-members.

Waikiki Community Center located in the heart of Waikiki (310 Paoakalani Avenue) offers innovative programs for children, families and senior adults and has been serving the community for the past 32 years. Complimentary parking is available to students while attending classes. For further information call (808) 923-1802 or visit our website at www.waikikicommunitycenter.org.
