Big waves on south-facing shores of all islands and trade-wind weather are in today's forecast.
The National Weather Service says a high-surf advisory remains in effect until 6 tonight, with waves of 6 to 8 feet and occasional sets to 10 feet expected.
City lifeguards — who yesterday performed four rescues and 11 assists in similar conditions — are again urging beachgoers to practice caution.
Meanwhile, it will be mostly sunny with isolated windward and mauka showers, highs of 80 to 85 degrees and trades at 15 to 20 mph with locally higher gusts.
The weather service says the breezy, dry conditions should last through tomorrow, but the second half of the week could be wet.
