A fire destroyed a large garage at a home on Ikena Circle on Hawaii Loa Ridge Wednesday afternoon.

The blaze was reported at 2:03 p.m. at 966 Ikena Circle and was extinguished at 2:51, said Capt. Terry Seelig, Honolulu Fire Department spokesman. Smoke and heat from the fire did get into the home, but did not cause any major damage, Seelig said.

Seelig said damage to the garage and its contents was estimated at $300,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, he said.
