Conan O'Brien will be on TV this weekend with his first post-"Tonight Show" interview.

O'Brien talks with Steve Kroft on "60 Minutes," CBS said yesterday. O'Brien's exit deal with NBC barred him from television appearances until May 1; the "60 Minutes" piece will air the day after.

The interview was conducted last week in Los Angeles, according to a person with knowledge of it. The person, who lacked authority to discuss the matter publicly, spoke on condition of anonymity.

O'Brien, who left "Tonight" in January over a time-slot dispute with NBC, has agreed to host a late-night show on TBS later this year. He's now on a national comedy tour.

SALESMAN ORDERED TO PAY BACK $956,000

A California cattle salesman accused of stealing $1.5 million from customers, including "24" actor Kiefer Sutherland, has pleaded guilty to theft and forgery charges.

Michael Wayne Carr pleaded guilty Monday to three of 12 counts that included grand theft and forgery.

Under terms of a plea deal, the 44-year-old San Joaquin County man faces as much as seven years in prison and will be ordered to pay restitution when he's sentenced Nov. 1. Carr will be ordered to pay back $956,000 to Sutherland and one of the actor's investing partners.

RESEARCHER JAILED FOR READING CELEBS' FILES

A former UCLA School of Medicine researcher has been sentenced to four months in federal prison after reading the confidential medical files of celebrities such as Drew Barrymore, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Tom Hanks.

Huping Zhou also was fined $2,000 at his sentencing yesterday. He pleaded guilty in January to four misdemeanor counts of privacy violations.

Court filings said the breaches also involved the records of Sharon Osbourne, Barbara Walters, Elizabeth Banks, Leonardo DiCaprio and Anne Rice.

'SEINFELD' STAR STRIKES BICYCLIST WITH CAR

Los Angeles police say "Seinfeld" actor Jason Alexander struck a 14-year-old bicyclist while driving, but the boy wasn't seriously injured.

Police spokeswoman Norma Eisenman says Alexander hit the bicyclist yesterday along Wilshire Boulevard in the Mid-City area.

Eisenman says Alexander stopped and waited for police and wasn't cited.

MONROE'S MUSINGS TO BE PUBLISHED

Musings about life, literature and other rarely seen writings by Marilyn Monroe will be published this fall.

Farrar, Straus & Giroux announced yesterday that "Fragments" would come out in October. Editor Courtney Hodell said the book would include poems, photographs, reflections on third husband Arthur Miller and other men in Monroe's life.

The writings date from 1943, when Monroe was a teenager, to near the end of her life.
