JOHANNESBURG — Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and Canadian rock singer Bryan Adams will perform at a FIFA-endorsed concert in South Africa to mark the end of the World Cup.
Concert organizers said Thursday that Bocelli will take center stage at the "Celebrate Africa, the Grand Finale" event in Johannesburg on July 9, two days before the World Cup final.
Bocelli will be joined on stage by Adams and South African soprano Pretty Yende.
FIFA has previously announced that Alicia Keys and Shakira will headline a concert on June 10 to mark the start of soccer's biggest tournament.
FIFA's original lineup for the Kickoff concert was criticized by South Africa's government, which said it didn't have enough local performers.
