CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Tiger Woods' return to a regular PGA Tour event didn't last long. He missed the cut Friday in the Quail Hollow Championship with his worst round in more than seven years.
Woods hit a flop shop into the water for double bogey, four-putted for double bogey on the next hole and wound up with a 7-over 79. It was only the sixth time on the PGA Tour that he has missed the cut in 188 tournaments that have a cut.
It was his second tournament since returning to golf from a five-month break after being caught in a web of infidelity. Woods tied for fourth in the Masters three weeks ago.
