Police arrested a 31-year-old 'Ewa Beach man Wednesday night after his wife told police he tried to hit her with a hammer.

The wife, 32, said the two were arguing at their home on Puamaeole Street when her husband grabbed a hammer and swung it at her, missing her by about an inch.

Police went to the home and arrested the husband about 10 p.m. on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
