Hawaii parents reminded some kids need second dose of swine flu vaccine

Associated Press

HONOLULU — State health officials are reminding Hawaii parents that children younger than 10 must receive two doses of the swine flu vaccine to achieve maximum protection.

State Epidemiologist Sarah Park says the second dose of H1N1 vaccine for the youngsters is recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Department of Health said Tuesday that Hawaii and a number of other states have many children who have not received their second dose. There are still many children who have not been vaccinated against H1N1 at all.
With adequate supplies of swine flu vaccine available in Hawaii, health officials are encouraging everyone to get vaccinated.
