Kahuku senior Kona Schwenke today signed a national letter of intent to play football at Notre Dame, according to the Fighting Irish's Web site.
Punahou's Jeremy Ioane made a surprising choice in Boise State and Farrington's VJ Fehoko picked Utah over Hawai‘i.

Schwenke, a 6-3, 215-pound defensive end, topped the list of The Advertiser's Top 25 college football prospects for 2010. He was also considering Washington.
Ioane, a 5-11, 195-pound cornerback, created the biggest buzz by choosing Boise State, a Western Athletic Conference member along with Hawaii, over Notre Dame and Washington.
Fehoko, 5-11 and 225 pounds, is projected to play linebacker.
Kapolei's Shaydon Akuna signed a national letter of intent to play at Oregon State. Akuna, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound safety, also considered Florida State, Arizona, West Virginia and Arkansas.
Ioane, Fehoko and Akuna announced their decisions and signed letters today at a signing ceremony hosted by the Pacific Islands Athletic Alliance at the Sheraton Waikiki.
Kahuku will be having a signing ceremony at 10:30 this morning, which will be streamed live on www.honoluluadvertiser.com.
Today was the first day athletes could sign National Letters of Intent.
