Hawaii executive named to federal advisory panel

HONOLULU — U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar has appointed 14 people to serve as members of the National Geospatial Advisory Committee.

One of the appointees is First Insurance Co. of Hawaii Chief Information Officer David DiSera.
The committee provides advice and recommendations on federal geospatial policy and management issues, as well as a forum to convey views representative of partners in the geospatial community.
Committee members report to the chair of the Federal Geographic Data Committee. It is the federal interagency executive group responsible for providing leadership and direction in federal geospatial programs.
