Stanford, Hudson win golf titles

Stanford took top team honors and Bobby Hudson of Texas captured the medalist title yesterday at the Ameri Ari Invitational at the Mauna Lani Resort North Course on the Big Island.
The University of Hawai'i-Mānoa finished 18th, while host Hawai'i-Hilo was 21st in the 22-team field.
Stanford, the No. 2 ranked team in the country, shot a four-man aggregate final-round of 2-under 286 for a 54-hole total of 2-over 866.
Oregon (288) and No. 8 Washington (291) tied for second at 869, followed by Texas (281870) and No. 1 Oklahoma State (287871).
UH-Mānoa shot 310923, while the host Vulcans shot 305949.
Hudson fired a final-round 6-under 66 for a 7-under 209 total and a one-stroke victory over Florida State's Brooks Koepka (65201). Oklahoma State's Kevin Tway, son of PGA Tour player Bob Tway, was third at 72212.
UH-Mānoa's TJ Kua finished tied for 21st at 72220.

UH-Hilo rallies, 12-8: The University of Hawai'i-Hilo rallied for six runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to rally past Northwest Nazarene, 12-8, last night at Francis Wong Stadium in Hilo.
Shane Kessel had three hits and four RBIs and T.J. Pilia had two hits and drove in four runs for UHH (2-1). The Crusaders fell to 1-2.
MEN'S BASKETBALL
HPU triumphs, 81-63: Ray Murdock scored 20 points and Jeff Ingram added 17, leading Hawai'i Pacific to an 81-63 Pacific West Conference victory over Notre Dame de Namur last night at Blaisdell Arena.
C.J. Jackson added 12 points and 12 rebounds and Norman Wells had 10 points for the Sea Warriors (16-4, 8-1). Trent Henwood scored 13 points to lead the Argonauts (2-18, 0-9).
Chaminade beats AOA, 85-70: Matt Cousins had 19 points and 10 rebounds, leading Chaminade past Academy of Arts, 85-70, in a Pacific West Conference game last night at McCabe Gym.
Steven Bennett added 15 points and nine assists and Waly Coulibaly had 13 points for the Silverswords (7-9, 4-3). Jordan Knox scored 19 to lead the Urban Knights (0-19, 0-9).
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Sea Warriors win, 68-62: Jazzmin Awa-Williams scored 24 points and Genesis Lewis added 18, including the go-ahead layup for a 58-56 lead with 4:28 to play, lifting Hawai'i Pacific to a victory over Notre Dame de Namur yesterday at Blaisdell Arena.
Mana Hopkins and Paris Gravely each added 10 points for HPU, which improve to 13-4 overall and remained undefeated in the Pacific West Conference at 9-0. Katie Zasly scored 18 points to lead the Argonauts (10-10, 6-4).
AAU beats Chaminade, 77-67: Sondra Stillwell scored 21 points to lead the Urban Knights past the host Silverswords yesterday in a Pacific West Conference game at Blaisdell Arena.
The Urban Knights, who trailed 38-36 at halftime, improved to6-12 and 2-6. Samantha Saito scored 18 points, Brittany Bridges added 12 and Kayci Will 10 for the Silverswords (1-13, 0-7).
