Fundraiser benefits Special Olympics

Special Olympics Hawaii will hold its second annual Polar Plunge fundraiser March 6 at Restaurant Row. Participants who raise $100 or more in donations get to dip into a tub of 37-degree water. Individuals as well as teams are invited to sign up, and prizes will be awarded to those who raise the most funds and have the best costumes.
The event starts at 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Restaurant Row's makai lawn along Ala Moana Boulevard with food booths, and entertainment. A post-plunge party will follow.

GREAT ALOHA RUN
HEALTH EXPO ALL ABOUT FUN AND FITNESS
The Great Aloha Run weekend kicks off tomorrow with the Kaiser Permanente Sports, Health and Fitness Expo in the Blaisdell Center Exhibition Hall. Exhibits will offer information on action sports, leisure and adventure activities, health and wellness. And more than 20,000 Great Aloha Run participants can pick up their packets for the Monday race.
The expo is open 4 to 9 p.m. tomorrow, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $4 general, $2 for active-duty military and dependents, and free for seniors and children 12 and younger with a paying adult. For more information, visit www.greataloharun.com.
