Former Superintendent of Schools Patricia Hamamoto has been appointed the new principal of Saint Louis School, according to the Saint Louis president’s office.
Jim Morris, assistant to Saint Louis President Walter Kirimitsu, said Hamamoto’s appointment will be effective Feb. 22.
Former Principal Jack Rizzo resigned in early November due to health reasons. Since Rizzo’s resignation, Kirimitsu has served as both president and principal, Morris said.
Hamamoto resigned from the state Department of Education on New Year’s Eve after serving as superintendent for more than eight years.
A press conference is planned for Feb. 22. Kirimitsu was not available for comment, Morris said. Hamamoto has not returned calls requesting comment.
