Vogue subscribers may have noticed an e-mail from Tina Fey in their inboxes. The fashion magazine mailed a note from the actress promoting her cover story for its March issue.
Vogue said that Fey used her self-deprecating humor to describe her Vogue experience. She compared it to things you might expect to only see once in your lifetime — like Halley's Comet.
This isn't the first time Vogue has sent out an e-mail on behalf of a celebrity cover model: A similar message went out from Jessica Biel to promote her February 2010 cover.
The March 2010 issue of Vogue goes on sale Tuesday.
NEW POLANSKI FILM PREMIERES IN BERLIN
Yesterday was a banner day for director Roman Polanski: His new film premiered in Berlin and Swiss authorities pledged not to extradite him to the U.S. as long as his appeal on a sex case was still being considered in Los Angeles.
Polanski could not walk the red carpet at the Berlin film festival last night for the debut of "The Ghost Writer," starring Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan, because he is under house arrest. But he was still the star, feted by the film's actors, producer and screenplay writer.
BOURDAIN BRINGING FOOD PORN TO MASSES
With a little help from Martha Stewart, Anthony Bou-rdain wants to expand America's notion of food porn.
Bourdain, the celebrity chef whose fondness for strong opinions and foul language has earned him a bad-boy rap, next week launches a satellite radio program on Sirius XM's Martha Stewart Living Radio with friend Eric Ripert, chef at Le Bernardin in New York.
"We're going to be doing a segment that we call food porn," Bourdain said. "We're going to challenge each other to describe in as purple a language as possible some food we've had."
PROBE LOOKS INTO PRINCE'S CAR INCIDENT
British police are investigating an accident in which Prince Andrew allegedly struck a police officer with his car while driving into Buckingham Palace.
Media reports said Queen Elizabeth II's second son hit the officer as he was driving his vehicle through the palace gates. The palace confirmed yesterday there had been "a minor incident" involving the prince and said it was a matter for the police.
PALIN'S EX SEEKS LENIENCY IN CHILD SUPPORT
Levi Johnston, the father to former Gov. Sarah Palin's grandchild, is asking a judge to grant flexibility in the child support he must pay to Palin's daughter.
The Anchorage Daily News reports that Johnston, 19, contends he earned more than $100,000 in 2009 because of his national celebrity. But he says in court documents that there's no guarantee that fame, or that amount of income, will continue.
Bristol Palin, the 19-year-old daughter of the former GOP vice presidential candidate, is seeking $22,750 from her ex-fiance to cover the 13 months since the birth of their son, Tripp. Johnston has paid $4,400 so far.
