Power has been fully restored to about 1,600 Hawaiian Electric Co. customers around Windward City Shopping Center in Kaneohe after a faulty insulator caused a short in a power line this morning.

Some 1,600 customers originally lost service around 8:30 a.m., said HECO spokeswoman Jan Miller. Six hundred customers had service restored around 9:15 a.m., Miller said.
Full service was restored around 11:30 a.m., Miller said.
