Baby critical after almost drowning in swimming pool
An infant nearly drowned yesterday in a Käne'ohe swimming pool, city emergency officials said.
The child was taken to a nearby hospital and was in critical condition at 3:53 p.m., said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for the city's Department of Emergency Services.
The near-drowning occurred on Mapumapu Road, Cheplic said.
When paramedics arrived, a man was performing CPR on the baby.
