A 65-year-old woman was killed this morning when she was struck by a school bus on University Avenue, police said.
The victim was apparently dragged at least 20 feet and pinned under a tire.

Bryan Cheplic of the city's Emergency Services Department said the woman was pronounced dead at 6:51 a.m.
The woman initially was described as being in her 20s or 30s of Honolulu. The Honolulu Medical Examiner's office is not releasing her name pending notification of next of kin.
She is the fifth pedestrian fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 10 for all of 2009.
Police Lt. David Nilsen said it is not known at this time if the woman was in a crosswalk.
The woman was struck on University between Kapiolani Boulevard and Hihiwai Street about 6:35. Her covered body remained under the bus after 9 a.m. and her personal effects were scattered on the street.
The area is near Ala Wai Elementary School and Iolani School.
The bus, operated by Roberts Hawaii, was headed makai and carrying 42 students when it struck the woman. Neither the children nor the 67-year-old woman driving the bus was injured.
