Soccer: Fan killed in skirmishes between rival supporters

SAO PAULO — A fan has been killed and 17 more were injured in skirmishes involving rival supporters of Brazil soccer clubs Palmeiras and Sao Paulo.
Police say at least six confrontations broke out late Sunday after Palmeiras’ 2-0 win over Sao Paulo at Palestra Italia stadium.
The man who died was among four fans shot during a fight in the city of Jundiai, in the outskirts of Sao Paulo. The injured are hospitalized in stable condition.
Police say nearly 60 people were detained after the confrontations.
