A small earthquake was been recorded Tuesday morning south-southeast of the Big Island.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 3.4, making it one of the smallest temblors generally felt by people.
Hawaiçi County Civil Defense said the quake was not strong enough to cause a tsunami.
Scientists say the earthquake occurred 30 miles from Hilo, or 12 miles from Leilani Estates, at a depth of 27.5 miles.
