Beach parking lot gets more stalls, other improvements
Forty-nine new stalls have been added to the Mā'ili Beach parking lot, including three stalls for people with disabilities, the city announced yesterday.
An improvement project also added ADA-compliant concrete walkways, a picnic table and charcoal pit, and landscaping.
The project cost $500,000, and it was completed ahead of schedule.
It was funded through the city government's Leeward Coast Community Benefits program, which provides $2 million a year for the area to compensate area residents for the nearby Waimānalo Gulch Sanitary Landfill.
