SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Mark Wilson charged and Camilo Villegas faltered.

The result was a two-way tie for the lead at 11-under-par 131 halfway through the Phoenix Open.

Wilson birdied the last four holes for a 5-under 66, while Villegas bogeyed No. 18 when he missed a 14-foot putt for par. The 28-year-old Colombian settled for a 69 after tying the tournament first-round record with a 9-under 62 on Thursday.

Eleven players were within two shots of the lead at TPC Scottsdale, where a crowd estimated at 101,709 attended the second round yesterday under thinly overcast conditions.

Anthony Kim (65), Ryan Moore (66) and Rickie Fowler (67) were 10 under.

Hawai'i's Parker McLachlin, a Punahou School and UCLA alum, shot a 70 and was tied for 39th place at 5-under 137.

WIE TRAILS BY FOUR

Hawai'i's Michelle Wie carded a 3-under 69 today and was five shots off lead after the third round of the LPGA's HSBC Champions in Singapore.

Wie, a Punahou alum and current student at Stanford, has a 54-hole total of 2-under 214 at the Tanah Merah's Garden Course.

Ai Miyazato and Juli Inkster both shot 69s for 209 totals to share a two-stroke lead over three players.

FUJIKAWA MAKES CUT

Honolulu's Tadd Fujikawa, who shot a 5-over-77 Thursday before play was suspended, just made the cut at the weather-plagued Savannah Quarters Classic at Savannah, Ga.

Fujikawa's two-round total is 4-over 148. He is tied for 63rd place with 10 others as 73 golfers made the cut.

The Moanalua High School alum is 10 shots behind leader Will McGirt, who completed his second round yesterday with a 1-under 71 and was at 138

All 73 golfers teed off later yesterday for the third round before play was suspended because of darkness.
