After two tournaments, Japan's Ai Miyazato is the player to beat on the LPGA Tour.
Miyazato rallied from a bogey-bogey start to fire a final-round, 3-under-par 69 today to claim a two-stroke victory over American Cristie Kerr in the HSBC Women's Champions Tournament in Singapore.
Miyazato, who came from five strokes back in the final round to win last week's season-opening Honda PTT LPGA Thailand tournament, finished with a 72-hole total of 10-under 278 at the Tanah Merah Country Club, Garden Course. She made seven birdies to offset four bogeys.
Kerr held the lead when she got to 10 under after 16 holes, but bogeyed the 17th and 18th to finish with a 68 and 280 total.
Hawai'i's Michelle Wie fired a final-round 2-under 70 to finish tied for 15th. The Punahou School alum and current Stanford student made five birdies against three bogeys to finish with at 4-under 284.
Wie started fast with birdies at the third and fourth holes, but bogeyed the sixth to make the turn at 1-under 35. A bogey at the 10th brought her back to even for the round.
Birdies at 15, 16 and 17 put her at 5-under overall before she finished with a bogey at the 18th.
South Korea's Song-Hee Kim and Jiyai Shin each fired 5-under 67s and finished tied at 7-under 281 with Taiwan's Yani Tseng (69) and Norway's Suzann Pettersen (69).
