A Big Island man died after striking a parked car on the side of Pikake Street in Pahala early this morning, just after midnight, firefighters said.

The man, who was not identified, was taken to Kau Hospital without any vital signs, said Big Island firefighters. After striking the parked car, the driver's vehicle flipped over and ejected the driver who sustained severe head trauma, firefighters said.
