Unoccupied structure on Big Island destroyed by fire

An unoccupied residential structure in Hawaiian Acres was destroyed by fire last night, a county press release said.
The building, described as a 20- by 40-foot single-story structure, was fully engulfed in flames and had collapsed by the time firefighters arrived at 9:27 p.m.
Firefighters had the fire under control by 9:35 and extinguished it 10 minutes later.
