Police investigating injuries to 3-month-old boy

Police have opened a second-degree assault investigation after a 3-month-old boy was brought to Kapiolani Medical Center early Monday morning with suspicious injuries.
The infant was brought to the hospital to check for pneumonia, but police were contacted after X-rays showed the boy had several broken ribs.
The baby was taken into protective custody and was later turned over to Child Protective Services.
No arrests had been made in the case as of this morning.
