Hang Ten co-founder Duke Boyd to give talk on Jan. 21

Duke Boyd, author of “Legends of Surfing” and the co-founder of Hang Ten surf wear, will speak at Chinatown Boardroom’s Surf Discussion Series.
Boyd will share his surf knowledge at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at Chinatown Boardroom, 1160 Nuuanu Ave.
The event is free, and Boyd will be on hand to autograph copies of his book after his talk.
Boyd’s book celebrates surfing culture. It’s described as part travelogue, part biography and part reference guide, and includes profiles of more than 100 surfers.
Hang Ten, founded in 1962, set a standard for surf wear and was popular in the Islands.
