Pacific Heights fire intentionally set
Fire investigators today concluded that a Pacific Heights house fire was intentionally set and have turned the case over to the Honolulu Police Department.
The fire caused $50,000 damage to the structure and $5,000 in property damage and was confined to one bedroom in the 2,200-square foot, single-family home. But smoke caused extensive damage to the main upper level of the house, according to Honolulu Fire Capt. Robert Main.
Eighteen firefighters from three Honolulu Fire Department companies responded to the blaze at 2740 Pacific Heights Road at 3:29 a.m. and found a neighbor fighting the fire with a garden hose, Main said.
No one was home and there were no reported injuries nor evacuations of adjacent homes, Main said.
