CBKB: Florida’s Dunlap, Maurkice Pouncey enter NFL draft

GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida defensive end Carlos Dunlap and center Maurkice Pouncey are leaving school early and entering the NFL draft.
The Gators now have four underclassmen in the draft. Cornerback Joe Haden and tight end Aaron Hernandez announced their intentions last week.
Guard Mike Pouncey, however, says he is returning for his senior season.
Dunlap, who led the Gators with nine sacks last season, is projected to be a first-round pick despite his drunk-driving arrest in early December. Florida coach Urban Meyer suspended Dunlap for the Southeastern Conference championship game, which the Gators lost.
Maurkice Pouncey, awarded the Rimington Trophy as the nation’s top center in 2009, is projected to be a second-round pick.
