UH men's volleyball moves up to No. 8; USC still No. 1

Despite its loss to Hawai‘i on Saturday, Southern California remains No. 1 in the AVCA Coaches Top 15 poll announced Monday.
Hawai‘i, which swept then No. 10 Ohio State but lost in five to No. 5 Penn State, moved up from No. 12 to No. 8.
Penn State, which also beat Ohio State, is ranked No. 6. Ohio State, which is 0-3, is tied for No. 11 with UC San Diego.
Cal State Northridge (3-0) is ranked No. 2, moving up from No. 9.
Stanford (0-0) and UC Irvine (3-1) are tied for No. 3 with BYU (2-1) No. 5.
UH plays at Stanford Friday and Saturday.
The top four teams all received first-place votes.
