U.S. Sen. Daniel Inouye has begun a five-day trip to Japan, where he will participate in discussions about U.S.-Japan relations.

Inouye, D-Hawaii, will be joined by Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss., Inouye’s office said today in a news release.
The delegation is scheduled to meet with U.S. and Japanese officials, including Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama and Foreign Minister Katsuya Okada.
