The Honolulu medical examiner’s office has identified the body of a woman found Wednesday in a tidepool area off Kaçena Point trail as Michelle Tigno, 30.
Hikers spotted the body after walking in about a mile from the end of Farrington Highway, according to the Honolulu Fire Department.
Fire Capt. Terry Seelig, a spokesman for the department, previously said a call came in about 2:30 p.m. that hikers had found a body.
The fire department investigated along with police. Seelig said officials recovered the body by about 3 p.m. and turned it over to the medical examiner’s office.
