UH's Kaufman hits NCAA qualifying mark in high jump at Seattle meet

University of Hawai�i�s Amber Kaufman won the high jump with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark at the University of Washington Indoor Preview today at Dempsey Indoor in Seattle.

Kaufman cleared 6 feet, 1.5 inches (1.87 meters) to win the top flight among 19 athletes. The height surpassed the NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 6-0.75 (1.85m). She will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championship for the second consecutive year.

Last season, Kaufman placed sixth at indoor nationals and is the reigning Western Athletic Conference champion.
