UH's Kaufman hits NCAA qualifying mark in high jump at Seattle meet

University of Hawai‘i’s Amber Kaufman won the high jump with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark at the University of Washington Indoor Preview today at Dempsey Indoor in Seattle.
Kaufman cleared 6 feet, 1.5 inches (1.87 meters) to win the top flight among 19 athletes. The height surpassed the NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 6-0.75 (1.85m). She will compete in the NCAA Indoor Championship for the second consecutive year.
Last season, Kaufman placed sixth at indoor nationals and is the reigning Western Athletic Conference champion.
