National Park Service to hold meetings on Kipahulu future

The National Park Service will hold public open houses this week beginning Tuesday to help shape the future of the Kipahulu section of Haleakalä National Park.
The park service is in the process of developing a master plan for the Kïpahulu district of the park, which will focus on improving visitor experience, natural and cultural resource protection and park operations.
The open houses will be Tuesday at Helene Hall in Hana, Wednesday at the Kalena Center in Kïpahulu and Thursday at the Haçikü Community Center. All meetings are from 5 to 7 p.m.
