Learn about the science of spider silk
Cheryl Hayashi, a biologist specializing in spiders, will give a talk on "Webs of Intrigue: The Science of Spider Silk" 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at Iolani School.
The lecture will be held in Seto Hall and is free and open to the public.
Hayashi, a 1985 Iolani graduate, is fulfilling a two-week teaching residency at Iolani as the 2010 Keables Chair Holder. The scientist, who received a Ph.D. through a joint program with Yale University and the American Museum of Natural History, has pioneered research in scientific uses for spider silks.
