Willie K, Melveen Leed headline Breathe concert for ALA Saturday

Willie K, Melveen Leed, the Hot Club of Hulaville and a cast of 150 will participate in The Breathe Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the Hawaii Theatre.
The concert is the annual American Lung Association in Hawaii’s fundraiser in Honolulu.
The headliners will be dressed in cool couture by 2 Couture, with dancers, singers, actors and celebrity dancers providing comedy, song and dance.
Contributing artists include: Lea Woods Almanza, Carlos Chang and Yulia Sharitova, Cathy Foy-Mahi, Beverly Noa, Lance Rae, The Tenor-itas, Al Waterson and members of Hawaii Ballet Theatre, 24/7 Danceforce, Diamond Head Theatre’s Shooting Stars, Ohia Productions, and 24Hr Fitness Cardio Team.
Director Marian Morrison, a Hawaii resident who spent 15 years working with Walt Disney Entertainment, designed the event as an "exhilarating showcase of the senses."

VIP tickets include a pre-concert party at the theater, with a “human crystal fountain,” photo opportunities with costumed characters, surprise gifts, live music, food and drink.
In a press release, American Lung Association in Hawaii Executive Director Jean Evans said over 175,000 children and adults in Hawaii have lung disease - more than the combined populations of Maui and Kauai. Hawaii is ranked second nationally for youth asthma, and lung cancer is the No. 1 cancer killer of women and men in the Islands.
American Lung Association in Hawaii, the oldest voluntary health organization in the state, was founded in 1929 on Kauai. It is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. Statewide programs include advocacy and education for tobacco prevention and cessation, asthma control, air quality and lung disease.
