The city Department of the Medical Examiner has identified Mary Sobrado, 85, of 'Aiea, as the woman who died Saturday at The Queen's Medical Center after being beaten in her home Dec. 16.

Sobrado's grandson, Darrel David Wright Jr., 49, was charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection with the case and is being held on $500,000 bail.

Police have said that Wright called them the day of the incident to say he had just beaten up his grandmother. Paramedics who were sent to Sobrado's home in 'Aiea Heights reported finding her covered in blood.
