Construction worker dies of injuries after 18-foot fall

A 34-year-old construction worker died last week of injuries suffered in a jobsite fall near Pāhoa Village, Hawai'i County police said.

Jeremy Rose, a Sure Steel employee from Idaho, fell about 18 feet at a building under construction on Thursday, police said.

Rose suffered a severe head injury and was taken to Hilo Medical Center, then flown to The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu in critical condition, police said. Rose died Friday, police said.
