Arizona Memorial boats out of service next week

HONOLULU — The National Park Service says boats at the USS Arizona Memorial won’t be operating for most of next week because of construction work on the boat docks.
The boats will be out of service from Monday through Friday.
The park service said Thursday the visitor’s center’s movie theater, museum, bookstore and exhibit panels will still be accessible. Visitors may also go on audio tours.
The boats normally leave for the memorial from docks at the visitor’s center but construction crews have been moving the docks as they build a new visitor’s center.
The current center is too small for the number of people who visit. It was also built on reclaimed land and is sinking.
The new $58 million center will be three times larger. It’s expected to be finished by Dec. 7.
