Dolls in display in time for Girls Day
The Honolulu Academy of Arts is opening the exhibit “Hina Matsuri: Japanese Dolls from the Tsuji Family Collection” on Feb. 11.
The exhibit, which will be open through June 6, features three sets of dolls from the Edo Meiji period (1868-1912).
The Tsuji family collected the dolls in the early 20th century and donated them to the Academy in 2002. The exhibition is a way to thank the Tsuji family and offer the community wishes for an auspicious spring season.
