Bank hosts Chinese New Year display, tours
Hawaii National Bank will continue a 28-year tradition with its annual Chinese New Year display, opening Feb.1 and continuing through Feb. 26, which turns the bank into a temporary "museum."
Longtime bank employee Evelyn Chang leads free tours for students and the general public every year, explaining the customs associated with the lunar new year in China. More than 3,000 students are expected to pass through the bank, which will be decked out with all manner of things: lanterns, clothing, narcissus flowers and more.
Hawaii National Bank's main branch is at 45 N. King St. in Chinatown. Information, or to reserve a tour: 528-7768.
